Maps of Lithuanian heritage abroad
Here are maps Lithuania-related places worldwide (marked by Augustinas Žemaitis, Open Street Map and Bing Maps used for the background). This section will be expanded.
Also, please check our interactive map of Lithuanian heritage abroad that already includes significant parts of Lithuanian-American heritage.
Maps of Lithuanian-American heritage
North America is the continent with the most Lithuanian heritage, primarily concentrated on its eastern part.
The cities and regions are marked in those maps by the number of Lithuanian churches that have ever been built there. This is the best measure of total Lithuanian heritage in the area as each church centered a community which has also created other heritage (museums, memorials, cemeteries, street names, etc.). The localities with more than a single Lithuanian church thus typically also have much other Lithuanian heritage.
